What are my Family and Medical Leave rights?
When you apply to take leave for a qualifying reason, the State will tell you as soon as it can whether you qualify for CTFMLA leave. The State will also:
- Give you detailed information about your rights and responsibilities
- Begin the approval process, which may include asking you to complete a medical certification form
Eligible employees are reinstated to the same role or, if it’s no longer available, an equivalent one when they return from leave.
IMPORTANT: You won’t get your job back (or get a similar one) if you stay out too long. Please make sure you understand the amount of leave you’re granted so you can come back to work for the State.
