The Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Business Office helps several agencies with financial and fiscal services, ranging from managing physical assets, to providing grant management services, to purchasing office equipment and supplies.

The Business Office supports the Connecticut State Library (CSL), the Department of Agriculture (DoAG), the Department of Administrative Services (DAS), the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP), the Office of the Governor, the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, and the Office of Governmental Accountability.

We work with agencies to record, track, and dispose of physical assets and equipment throughout their useful life cycle.

Services include:

• Reporting financial information to the state’s Core-CT system
• Tagging physical assets and taking yearly inventory
• Reconciling results of perpetual inventory records 
• Reporting findings to the Office of the State Comptroller
• Disposing of unneeded equipment and items
• Claiming of needed items on the state surplus system

DAS Budget management develops and administers customer agencies’ midterm and biennial budgets.

• Developing and submitting agency budgets
• Monitoring and reporting on monthly expenditures
• Developing financial projections and estimates
• Meeting with agency heads to review budgets and expenditures
• Preparing ad hoc reports for:
  • Conducting financial analysis
  • Developing revolving fund budgets, rates, and financial statements
• Responding to requests for information from auditors, Office of Policy and Management (OPM), Office of Fiscal Analysis (OFA), and customer agencies

We help customers with grants management services, including federal and other restricted accounts. Our unit gives agency programs the best results while following federal and state regulations and rules. We are always monitoring how agencies spend and report awards to make sure the process is efficient and financially responsible.
