Today: Gov. Malloy & NTSB Officials Update Media on Train Collision
This morning around 9:30 a.m., representatives from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are anticipated to arrive in Bridgeport at the site of Friday evening's Metro-North train collision, where they will meet with Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Senator Richard Blumenthal, Senator Chris Murphy, and other state officials. Shortly after conducting a brief survey of the area, they will hold a news briefing to update the media with the latest available details.

Gov. Malloy: New Training Partnership Helps Educators Identify and Respond to Signs of Mental Illness

Malloy today announced the expansion of the partnership between the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), Hartford Hospital's Institute of Living and Hartford Healthcare's Behavioral Health Network to include Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training for educators and school personnel.

Gov. Malloy Statement on Board of Regents Vote to Appoint Gregory W. Gray as New President
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released the following statement in response to a vote by the members of the Board of Regents for Higher Education on Thursday to appoint Dr. Gregory W. Gray to be the next President of the Board of Regents, which governs the 17 Connecticut State Colleges & Universities (ConnSCU), which includes 12 community colleges, four state universities and Charter Oak State College, the state’s only public, online institution.

Gov. Malloy: State/Local Partnerships Restore Brownfield Sites for Economic Development
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Commissioner Catherine Smith and other state and local officials, today announced that Bridgeport, Naugatuck, Newington, North Haven, Plainville, and Trumbull will receive a total of more than $6.5 million in grants and loans to clean up eight blighted brownfield sites.
