TUESDAY: GOV. MALLOY PARTICIPATES IN URBAN VIOLENCE DISCUSSION; SPEAKS AT GUN VIOLENCE FORUM; MEETS WITH HARTFORD PARENTS ON EDUCATION REFORM

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra, Hartford Police Chief James C. Rovella, members of the Hartford City Council, and community stakeholders at a roundtable discussion on urban violence, including gun violence reduction strategies, community policing efforts, and other urban crime mitigation efforts.

In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will participate in a John Jay College of Criminal Justice forum on gun violence.

In the evening, Governor Malloy will meet with parents from the Hartford school system for a roundtable discussion on education reform efforts. Tuesday marks the one year anniversary of Governor Malloy signing sweeping education reform legislation into law, designed to improve the state's public school system and close the achievement gap.
