Tuesday: Gov. Malloy to Address Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce
On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will be the keynote speaker at the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce Business Breakfast in Groton. The Governor will speak about his efforts to improve the business climate in Connecticut and get our state's fiscal house in order to help create new jobs and keep the ones we have.

Gov. Malloy Judges Annual Contest for Teen Safe Driving
High school students’ videos showing how teens should make the right choice for safety when behind the wheel were rated today by Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Travelers executives, state commissioners and other safety advocates. The group rated the best among 164 entries in the annual contest for teen safe driving.

Governor Malloy: Unemployment Insurance Benefits Go Paperless, Achieves Noteworthy Savings
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that a move by the state Department of Labor towards a new paperless direct deposit system for unemployment insurance benefits will save the state approximately $300,000 a month on printing and mailing costs – a notable shift toward finding efficiencies that reduces state spending while improving services. The Governor said the move is an example of the type of change he would like to carry across all state departments as he continues looking for ways to reduce costs.

Gov. Malloy Urges Congressional Leaders to Fully Fund Sub Program
Governor Dannel P. Malloy sent letters today to the Chairs and the Ranking Members of Congress' Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense to request the full funding of two Virginia Class submarines slated to be built by Electric Boat.

Governor Malloy Seeks High-Speed Rail Money That Florida Rejected
In light of Florida's rejection of roughly $2 billion dollars in federal stimulus funding for high-speed rail infrastructure, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is actively pursuing a portion of those freed-up dollars to further bolster Connecticut's own high-speed rail expansion - the Springfield-Hartford-New Haven rail line.

Governor Malloy Hails Major Federal Grant for Technology in Health Care Reform
The administration of Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman today announced that Connecticut residents and businesses will benefit from a $35.6 million federal grant aimed at helping New England states develop a state-of-the-art, online gateway to health insurance options. While Connecticut and other New England states are directly participating, the project is centered at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester and the Massachusetts Executive Office of Human Services, supported by the non-profit New England States Consortium Systems Organization.

Friday: Gov. Malloy Attends HBJ E-Marketing Technology Summit, Rallies at Pratt, Whitney for the F-35
Governor Dannel P. Malloy will attend the Hartford Business Journal’s e-Marketing & Technology Summit on Friday between 8:00-8:30 a.m., during which he will present the Strateg-e Awards, recognizing local companies that take advantage of the latest technology to grow their businesses. The conference will assemble the region’s leaders on website design, search engine optimization, e-newsletters, e-advertising, blogs, social networks, business automation and integration for a series of interactive workshops.

Governor Malloy's Budget: Creates Jobs, Shares the Sacrifices that Need to be Made, and is Balanced With No Gimmicks
Governor Dannel P. Malloy unveiled his biennial budget today, covering fiscal years 2012 and 2013. The budget includes investments in job creation, as well as cuts in spending, concessions from state employees and tax increases in approximately equal measures, while keeping the safety net intact and supporting business and industry as they create jobs.

Thursday: Governor Malloy Celebrates African American History in CT
Governor Dannel P. Malloy will attend the ceremony for the launch of the Connecticut Freedom Trail website on Thursday afternoon. The Connecticut Freedom Trail was established in 1995 with the intention of educating the public about local African American history in State of Connecticut.

Wednesday: Governor Malloy Delivers Budget Address
Governor Dannel P. Malloy will deliver his FY 2012-2013 state budget address in front of a joint session of the Connecticut General Assembly on Wednesday at noon. The Governor’s address will be preceded by a budget briefing for members of the media conducted by Office of Policy & Management Secretary Benjamin Barnes.

Governor Malloy to Hold Series of Town Hall Meetings Across Connecticut
Over the next seven weeks, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a series of 17 town hall-style meetings across the state. These meetings will allow the Governor to discuss the state’s pressing economic and budgetary issues face-to-face with state residents, while listening to their own thoughts and suggestions, as well.

Today: Governor Malloy to Attend UConn Cell and Genome Sciences Building Dedication
Governor Malloy will attend the dedication ceremony for the Cell and Genome Sciences Building at the University of Connecticut Health Center on Monday at noon. The building houses high tech research including the UConn Stem Cell Core, genetic sequencing, computer modeling and incubator space for emerging bioscience industries.
