Malloy for his Emergency Operation Center (EOC) conference call with agency commissioners, and attend the Governor's press availability.

Gov. Malloy: President Obama Signs Connecticut Disaster Declaration
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that late last night President Barack Obama signed the Connecticut Disaster Declaration, enabling state and local governments, individuals and non-profits to apply for federal funding in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irene.

Gov. Malloy Announces $1 Million in Federal Emergency Relief Funds for Transportation Infrastructure Repairs and Clean Up Due to Hurricane Irene
At the request of Governor Dannel P. Malloy, the Federal Highway Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation is making available to Connecticut $1 million in Emergency Relief Funding for clean-up and bridge and roadway infrastructure repairs as a result of Hurricane Irene. The Connecticut Department of Transportation will have immediate access to the funding stream to pay for clean-up costs and for damages incurred to the roadway network as a result of the powerful storm.

Gov. Malloy, Insurance Commissioner Praise Carriers for Waiving Hurricane Deductibles
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Insurance Commissioner Thomas B. Leonardi today announced that the Administration has been working closely with the insurance industry in wake of Tropical Storm Irene to address the issue of higher-cost hurricane deductibles that may be applied for some damages on coastal properties. As a result, the majority of the companies that write homeowners policies in Connecticut, including the Travelers and The Hartford, will be waiving the higher cost deductible.

Gov. Malloy Asks Residents, Businesses to Report Damage from Hurricane Irene to 2-1-1
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today urged all state residents and business owners who experienced property damage from Hurricane Irene to report those damages to the state’s free Infoline, 2-1-1, or online at www.211ct.org. The collection of this data will be used to help prepare the state’s request for a disaster declaration from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
