Gov. Malloy Signs Orders Extending Deadlines for Personal Property Tax Declarations, Unemployment Insurance Filings
Governor Dannel P. Malloy on Wednesday afternoon signed two separate executive orders extending to November 15 the deadlines by which both personal property tax declarations and unemployment insurance tax filings must be reported.

Gov. Malloy Urges FEMA to Amend Emergency Declaration to Further Aid Cities, Towns, State
Governor Dannel P. Malloy has written to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), asking the agency to amend its emergency declaration that President Barack Obama approved on Monday to include both Category A and Category B aid, which the Governor said will help the State of Connecticut and its residents to recover more quickly from this weekend’s rare October snowstorm.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today ordered U.S. and Connecticut flags to fly at half staff in honor of Connecticut resident Sergeant Ari Cullers, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on Sunday.

At 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning, Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will give welcoming remarks at the first meeting of the state Labor Management Committee. Immediately following the Governor’s remarks, he will hold a media availability outside of his office at 10:30 a.m. to discuss the committee and his goals for what it can accomplish.

Heeding Hartford's Decision, Governor's Residence will not Open to Trick-or-Treaters Tonight
Heeding Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra’s decision urging Hartford families and children to abstain from trick-or-treating in the city tonight, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Governor’s Residence, typically a popular spot for kids trick-or-treating in Hartford, will not be handing out candy this Halloween. Earlier today, Governor Malloy urged local mayors and first selectmen to make a decision about Halloween celebrations in their respective cities and towns.

Gov. Malloy Requests Emergency Declaration from President Obama
Governor Dannel P. Malloy has requested an emergency declaration from President Obama to assist with clean up and recovery efforts for the record storm that hit the state yesterday. If granted, the declaration would give the state access to direct federal assistance, as well as reimbursement for 75 percent of certain emergency protective measures.
