Gov. Malloy Announces Emergency Management STEAP Grants for Portland, Killingworth, Madison
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Portland, Killingworth, and Madison will receive Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) emergency management awards for infrastructure projects that will help strengthen response and mitigate damage during storms and other emergencies.

Gov. Malloy: Report Reviews Economic Development Potential for State's Deep Water Ports
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the completion of the Connecticut Deep Water Port Strategy Study which was commissioned by Connecticut's Department of Transportation (DOT) to guide the development of a long-term economic development strategy for the deep water ports in Bridgeport, New Haven, and New London. The study makes recommendations to protect existing commercial operations at these ports, and identifies new opportunities for business growth.

Gov. Malloy Statement on Licensure Approval of Quinnipiac University’s Doctor of Medicine Degree

On Wednesday, Governor Malloy will visit Quinebaug Valley Community College in Danielson, Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport, and Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury where he will participate in three separate ceremonies to commemorate the opening of each community college’s new Advanced Manufacturing Centers.

Gov. Malloy: Charter Communications Establishing Corporate Headquarters in Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that Charter Communications, Inc., a Fortune 500 company and the fourth-largest cable operator in the United States, plans to establish its headquarter office in downtown Stamford. Charter will invest more than $10 million and intends to bring 200 jobs to the area, which includes the majority of its executive officers. Charter will lease an approximately 70,000 square foot space at 400 Atlantic Street.

Gov. Malloy: $121 Million Released for High-Speed Rail Program
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the U.S. Department of Transportation today announced the release of $120.9 million in FRA funding to Connecticut to advance the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield (NHHS) Rail Program. The federal funding will be matched by $141.9 million in state funding. Enhanced intercity rail service is expected to start in 2016.
