Monday, March 9, 2020 Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WIIN) Act- $40 Million Reduction in Lead Exposure via Drinking Water Grant “On February 19, 2020 the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the availability of $40 million in grant funding under the 2016 Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WIIN) Act to help reduce lead in drinking water in disadvantaged communities. For more information please read DWS Circular Letter #2020-08 Monday, March 2, 2020 New Fiscal and Asset Management Plan Requirement for Small Community Water Systems – due January 1, 2021 The DPH has developed a new web page dedicated to Capacity Development topics and resources for Small Water Systems. The new Webpage discusses the new Fiscal and Asset Management Plan requirement for small community PWS. A Fiscal & Asset Management Plan Template is now available, with Instructions, a Resource Guidance Document and a List of all small community PWS required to meet the new statute. The plan template covers all requirements of the statute including asset management, fiscal management and unaccounted for water loss. Two training sessions will be scheduled in late April (one in Eastern CT and one in Western CT) to provide additional fiscal and asset management training. Monday, February 10, 2020 Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Call for Projects for State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2021 The Drinking Water Section is announcing the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) Call for Projects for State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2021. Please refer to the “Call for Projects, Review and Ranking of Projects” page for more details. Monday, February 03, 2020 Drinking Water State Revolving Fund SFY 2020 Intended Use Plan now Final The Drinking Water Section has finalized the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Program (DWSRF) State Fiscal Year 2020 Annual Intended Use Plan and Project Priority List. These documents, along with the Hearing Report for the Public Hearing held on December 5, 2019, are now available on the DWSRF webpage. Tuesday, January 21, 2020 Webinar 2019-02 | Water Service Incident Webinar A webinar was hold on November 18, 2019 focused on water service incidents to ensure that the notification and response procedures from public water systems (PWS) are adequate to protect public health. Friday, October 25, 2019 Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Public Hearing Announced The Drinking Water Section will hold a Public Hearing/ Open Forum on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. to hear testimony regarding the Draft Intended Use Plan (IUP) for the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) Program during State Fiscal Year 2020.
