Gov. Malloy: Town of Canterbury Awarded $265k STEAP Grant
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Town of Canterbury has been awarded a $265,000 Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) grant that will be used towards capital improvement projects at Dr. Helen Baldwin Middle School and Manship Park.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he will launch a summer-long effort to highlight the role Connecticut's hospitality, tourism, and recreation sites play in strengthening the state's overall economy. The tour follows last month's unveiling of the state's new 'Still Revolutionary' marketing campaign, a new initiative that will boost revenues and draw attention to the state's distinctive attractions and extraordinary destinations through an aggressive marketing campaign.

Thursday: Gov. Malloy Speaks at Chelsea Piers Opening in Stamford, Tours Autism Center in Bridgeport
On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give remarks at a ceremony in Stamford celebrating the opening of Chelsea Piers, a three-story, 417,000 square-foot sports and entertainment complex featuring two National Hockey League-size ice skating rinks, an Olympic-size swimming pool, a recreational water park, space for food vendors, basketball courts, volleyball courts, squash courts, tennis courts, a 60,000 square-foot playing field, and much more.

Gov. Malloy: $10 Million Investment in Connecticut Public Housing
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the state is investing $10 million in seven state-funded public housing developments and 561 public housing units. The funding is part of the Governor's overall 10-year $420 million commitment to expand and revitalize affordable housing across the state.

Gov. Malloy: "Focused Deterrence" Needed to Reduce Urban Gun Violence
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has directed state criminal justice resources - including state police, corrections, probation, parole and prosecutors - to collaborate with federal and local law enforcement officials in Bridgeport, Hartford and New Haven on implementing a program of "Focused Deterrence," designed to reduce gun violence within those three cities where shootings remain objectionably high.
