THURSDAY: GOV. MALLOY SPEAKS AT CHELSEA PIERS OPENING IN STAMFORD; TOURS AUTISM CENTER IN BRIDGEPORT
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give remarks at a ceremony in Stamford celebrating the opening of Chelsea Piers, a three-story, 417,000 square-foot sports and entertainment complex featuring two National Hockey League-size ice skating rinks, an Olympic-size swimming pool, a recreational water park, space for food vendors, basketball courts, volleyball courts, squash courts, tennis courts, a 60,000 square-foot playing field, and much more.
Later, Governor Malloy will tour the Montano Assistive Technology Center, a state-of-the-art center for autism that uses various forms of technology for therapy, particularly for individuals who are non-verbal or have limited language.
