Gov. Malloy: New State Ignition Interlock Law Will Help Prevent Accidents Caused by Impaired Drivers
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by state lawmakers, public safety officials and advocates, today held a bill signing ceremony to commemorate the ratification of a new law that makes a number of changes to deter driving under the influence (DUI) and strengthen the state’s ignition interlock requirements by authorizing the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to administratively require the devices be installed on cars of first-time DUI offenders.

Monday: Gov. Malloy Commemorates State's New Ignition Interlock Law
On Monday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a ceremony at the headquarters of the Fairfield Police Department to commemorate the ratification of a new law strengthening the state’s ignition interlock requirements for driving under the influence (DUI) by authorizing the Department of Motor Vehicles to administratively require the devices be installed on cars of first-time DUI offenders.

Gov. Malloy: Leading Metal Fishining Company Will Expand and Create Jobs in New Britain
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Marsam Metal Finishing Co., a leading source for metal finishing, is undergoing a $2.5 million expansion project in New Britain that will allow the company to increase its operations to meet growing demand and add 25 new jobs to its current workforce of 34 employees.

Malloy today joined officials from the Town of Wilton and representatives of Yankee Gas at a ceremony to launch the start of a large-scale natural gas expansion project in the town that is estimated to save taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars per year in energy costs for schools and other government buildings, in addition to being available for private residential and business use.
