Gov. Malloy Warns Residents to be Prepared for Possible Power Outages this Weekend Due to Heavy Snow
With the season’s first winter storm approaching Connecticut, Governor Dannel P. Malloy warned residents to be prepared for possible power outages due to heavy snow falling on trees, many of which still haven’t lost their leaves. Because of the early onset of this storm in the season, many trees still have foliage which will become increasingly heavy with the wet snow forecast to fall.

Gov. Malloy: State Emergency Operations Center to Open Saturday at 2 P.M.
In advance of possible power outages due to the forecast heavy, wet snow, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will open the Emergency Operations Center at the Hartford Armory on Saturday, October 29 at 2 p.m.

Tonight at 6PM: Gov. Malloy Signs Jobs Legislation Into Law
This evening at 6 p.m., Governor Dannel P. Malloy will sign into law the jobs legislation that was approved last night by the Connecticut General Assembly. The Governor will be joined at the signing by Department of Economic & Community Development Commissioner Catherine Smith and a bipartisan group of legislative leadership, including Senator Williams, Speaker Donovan, Senator McKinney, Representative Cafero, Senator Looney and Representative Sharkey.

Gov. Malloy Hails Passage of Jackson Laboratory Bill
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today praised final passage of a bill that will provide $291 million in state funding for Jackson Laboratory’s (JAX) new billion dollar personalized medicine project on the campus of the University of Connecticut Health Center. A collaborative effort between Jackson Laboratory, the State of Connecticut, the University of Connecticut and Yale University, the Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine will accelerate the development of new medical treatments tailored to each patient’s unique genetic makeup.

Gov. Malloy, Legislative Leaders Laud Bipartisan Jobs Package
Governor Dannel P. Malloy hailed the passage of bipartisan legislation aimed at reinventing Connecticut by creating new jobs, spurring innovation and strengthening the state’s overall competitiveness. The package that was voted on today was the direct result of input from Governor Malloy and Senate President Donald Williams, House Speaker Chris Donovan, Senate Minority Leader John McKinney and House Minority Leader Larry Cafero on behalf of their respective caucuses.

On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give the keynote address at Mitchell College’s “Target Your Talent” career development event, hosted at Pfizer in Groton. The event is aimed at helping recent graduates and college students with disabilities network with employers, hear success stories, and learn about disclosure and workplace accommodation laws.

Gov. Malloy Announces NBC Sports Group is Fourth "First Five"
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that NBC Sports Group will be the fourth company to take advantage of the “First Five” economic development program. NBCUniversal’s NBC Sports Group will consolidate much of its northeast operations, including its existing Connecticut workforce, at new studios and offices in the former Clairol factory in Stamford. The project, slated to start in September 2012, will create 450 jobs and allow room for the company to grow in the future.
