Gov. Malloy Announces Third Round of Nonprofit Grants to Help Providers Enhance Services
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that a third round of grants is opening under the state's Nonprofit Grant Program - a state bond pool specifically designated for nonprofit community-based organizations that provide direct health and human services for state agency clients through contracts or agreements with state agencies.

Thursday: Gov. Malloy Participates in Rally on Federal Transportation Funding; Speaks at YWCA Hartford Region Luncheon
On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, Senator Chris Murphy, Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty, Connecticut Department of Transportation Commissioner James P. Redeker and a group of transportation advocates at a rally as part of "National Stand Up 4 Transportation Day" urging the U.S. Congress to pass multi-year federal transportation funding legislation.

Gov. Malloy Announces Small Town Grants to Assist Six Communities with Capital Improvement Projects
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that, in the second installment of several rounds of grants this year, six towns throughout Connecticut are being awarded funding under the state's Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) to assist with infrastructure improvement projects.

Monday: Gov. Malloy Visits the I-84 Hartford Viaduct to Discuss the Future of Transportation Infustructure
On Monday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will visit a section of the viaduct on Interstate 84 in Hartford to discuss the state's transportation infrastructure. The Hartford Viaduct is the elevated section of I-84 with structures that were originally designed in the 1960s for a 50-year service life.

Gov. Malloy Lifts Ban on State-Funded Travel to Indiana
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that, following the passage of an amended religious freedom recognition act, he would lift the ban on state-funded travel between Connecticut and Indiana. The adjusted legislation now provides protections to LGBTQ individuals, and as such, falls outside the scope of the Executive Order issued earlier this week.

Gov. Malloy and Local Officials Commemorate Start of I-84 Waterbury Widening Project
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today joined Connecticut Department of Transportation Commissioner James P. Redeker and other local officials for a groundbreaking ceremony in Waterbury to mark the start of the widening of Interstate 84 in the city between the areas of Washington Street and Pierpont Road. The project, which begins work this week, will see the creation of an additional, third lane on the highway in each direction.

Gov. Malloy: Nonprescription Medications are Sales Tax Free in the State Beginning Today
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that as the result of a new state law he introduced and signed last year, nonprescription drugs and medications are exempt from sales taxes in Connecticut beginning today.

On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Department of Transportation Commissioner James P. Redeker will hold a groundbreaking ceremony in Waterbury to commemorate the start of the widening of Interstate 84 in the city between the areas of Washington Street and Pierpont Road, creating a third lane in each direction. They will be joined at the event by Mayor Neil M. O'Leary and other local officials.

Rawson School in Hartford to highlight the school's success in disrupting the pathway to the juvenile justice system through Connecticut's School-Based Diversion Initiative (SBDI). Expansion of the SBDI program into the six school districts with the highest arrest rates for school offenses is part of Governor Malloy's Second Chance Society legislative package
