Gov. Malloy Signs Legislation to Bolster Connecticut's Aerospace Industry
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced he has signed legislation (Public Act 14-2) that he introduced to support an agreement the state reached in February with United Technologies Corporation (UTC) under which the company will invest up to $500 million to upgrade and expand its aerospace research and development and manufacturing facilities over the next five years.

Gov. Malloy Applauds Final Passage of Legislation That Will Help Veterans Find Employment
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today hailed the final passage of legislation (HB 5299) on Wednesday that will address barriers to employment for military families by requiring that state licensing authorities take into account military training and experience, where appropriate, as a substitute for additional training as well as allowing spouses to gain streamlined occupational certifications.

On Friday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will attend the American Red Cross Heroes Breakfast in Trumbull, where he will present the organization’s Community Resilience Award to Newtown First Selectman Pat Llodra, who will be accepting the award on behalf of the Newtown community, including its citizens, government, first responders, volunteers, and local and outside organizations.

Gov. Malloy: Connecticut Leads the Nation on High School Assessment
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced that Connecticut high school seniors lead the nation and are in a class of their own in reading, according to the results released today by the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). In math, the Class of 2013 remained in the top tier along with seniors from only four other states.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today applauded the U.S. Department of Defense’s announcement that it has awarded Stratford-based Sikorsky a contract valued at $1.2 billion for six test aircraft, and twenty-one overall, with most of the work to be done in Connecticut.
