Tuesday: Gov. Malloy Updates Media on Impact of Hurricane Sandy
On Tuesday, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold three media briefings at the state Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in Hartford to provide updates on Connecticut's response to Hurricane Sandy -- the first at 8:30 a.m., followed by another at noon, and then a third at 6:00 p.m.

Gov. Malloy Orders Road Closures
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today ordered road closures for all state highways. The closures will be implemented in two phases. At 11:00 A.M., trucks will be prohibited from operating on limited access highways. At 1:00 P.M., state highways will be closed to all non-emergency related vehicles.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy, based on the most recent data from the National Weather Service which suggests that the strong possibility exists for historic flooding at high tide later tonight, convened an emergency call at approximately 8:15pm with the mayors and first selectmen of the coastal towns that comprise the state’s Regions 1 and 2.

Gov. Malloy Orders Extension of All Motor Vehicle Deadlines & Expiration Dates
Governor Dannel P. Malloy on Monday morning ordered that all expiration dates and periods of validity for motor vehicle registrations, licenses, permits, certificates and other forms of credentials issued by or on behalf of the Department of Motor Vehicles be immediately extended until further notice due to the impact of Hurricane Sandy on Connecticut.

Gov. Malloy Signs Four Executive Orders to Assist Hurricane Sandy Recovery Efforts
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed four executive orders designed to assist Connecticut's recovery from Hurricane Sandy. The Executive Orders will allow faster restoration of the state power infrastructure, as well as offer certain tax filing extensions to Connecticut residents and businesses.

Malloy released the following statement in response to President Obama's approval Sunday night of the Governor's request to declare a pre-landfall emergency in Connecticut, which will allow the state to request federal funding and other assistance in advance of Hurricane Sandy's impact on the state.

Gov. Malloy Orders Voter Registration Deadline Extended to Thursday at 8PM
In response to the dangerous weather impacting the state from Hurricane Sandy, Governor Dannel P. Malloy on Sunday evening signed an executive order extending the in-person voter registration deadline in Connecticut to Thursday, November 1, at 8 p.m. for those who intend to vote in the upcoming election. The deadline had originally been scheduled for Tuesday, October 30, at 8 p.m.
