Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Connecticut Insurance Department Commissioner Thomas B. Leonardi today announced that Connecticut homeowners will not face higher-cost hurricane deductibles resulting from the impact of this week’s damaging storm.

Gov. Malloy Announces Simplified Process for Immediate Repair and Rebuilding of Seawalls, Bulkheads, in Coastal Areas
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that steps have been taken to allow residents and property owners to immediately repair or rebuild seawalls, bulkheads, and revetments damaged by Storm Sandy in regulated coastal and tidal areas.

Gov. Malloy: President Obama Approves Additional Federal Assistance
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that President Obama has approved a 100% cost share for ten days for emergency power restoration and emergency public transportation assistance for the four shoreline counties that have already received a major disaster declaration.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed Executive Order 26 that extends the property tax deadline for those Connecticut residents who pay property taxes on a quarterly basis.

Gov. Malloy: Residents Seeking Federal Assistance Must Register With FEMA
After receiving notification of the federal assistance available to cities and towns, businesses, individuals, and non-profits in Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London Counties, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that residents in those counties who suffered damage as a result of Hurricane Sandy must register with FEMA by phone or online to access that aid.

Gov. Malloy Announces No Fares for Connecticut Metro-North Commuters this Thursday and Friday
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that commuter rail service between Stamford and New York's Grand Central Terminal will resume Thursday morning, following just three days of suspended service as a result of the damage and havoc caused by Hurricane Sandy. The Governor has also waived all rail fares for Thursday and Friday's Metro-North rail service making rides into Grand Central free for the next two days.

Thursday: Gov. Malloy & U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Napolitano to View Storm Damage
On Thursday, United States Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano will visit Connecticut and join Governor Dannel P. Malloy for a tour of certain locations in the state that were impacted by Hurricane Sandy. The time and locations of these visits will be announced as soon as they are confirmed.

Gov. Malloy Releases Aerial Photos & Video of Storm Damage Along Connecticut Shoreline
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released a set of aerial photographs and video taken by the Connecticut National Guard on Tuesday during the Guard’s aerial assessment of Hurricane Sandy damage along the Connecticut shoreline.

Throughout the day today, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will make visits to view storm damage and speak with residents in towns along the Southeastern Connecticut shoreline, including Stonington, New London, Clinton, Westbrook, Madison and Guilford.
