Licensure Based on a Certificate of Professional Qualification Issued by the ASPPB

Before applying for licensure, please familiarize yourself with the general licensing policies.

 

The Department may issue a license to any applicant who is a currently practicing, competent practitioner in another state and holds a current Certificate of Professional Qualification (CPQ) from the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB).

 

Applicants need only sit for and pass the Connecticut Jurisprudence examination. This examination consists of twenty-five (25) multiple-choice items; at least eighteen (18) questions must be answered correctly in order to pass.  This examination is administered  six (6) times per year.   Please indicate on your application the administration for which you are applying.  Please select this link for examination dates and deadlines.  Please select this link for the study guide

 

Documentation Requirements


Verification of all licenses held, current or expired.  The verification of licensure form must be forwarded to the appropriate authority in any U.S. state or territory in which the applicant is or has ever been licensed as a psychologist.  Most jurisdictions charge a fee for completion of the verification form.  Please contact the jurisdiction for fee information;

 

Official verification of the award of the Certificate of Professional Qualification.  Please arrange for the AASPB to send verification directly to this office;

 

A completed application and fee in the amount of $565.  Applications are only accepted online.  Please select this link to apply online.
