Building
Following the Executive Orders issued by Governor Lamont, DEEP will temporarily close its office locations, including its headquarters at 79 Elm Street, Hartford, effective March 17, 2020 to public visitors as a precautionary measure to mitigate the spread of Coronavirus.
Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEM)
DEEP is temporarily extending the submission deadline for the 1st Quarter CEM Reports from April 30, 2020, to June 1, 2020. All required monitoring, record keeping, and notification requirements remain in effect during this extension. This action in no way impacts or suspends the requirements of regulated businesses to continue to compile and maintain the emission data, audits, and summaries of corrective action taken. Please read the extension announcement for additional details.
Compliance Reports
DEEP's Air Bureau is encouraging sources, on a temporary basis, to submit all required compliance reports electronically. Title V and GPLPE compliance reports supported and required to be submitted electronically should continue to be submitted using the EMIT online reporting tool. All other compliance reports may be submitted via email at deep.cacu@ct.gov.
Fuels Waiver
On March 27, 2020, the Commissioners of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the Department of Consumer Protection issued a joint waiver pertaining the regulatory requirements of Reid Vapor Pressure. Please see full waiver for further details.

Air Quality Forecasts and Monitoring
Air quality is monitored through real time, direct measurements of our ambient air, and is forecasted using complex models to predict future air quality events. The Agency utilizes both of these methods to protect public health and plan for long term air quality control. Air Quality Planning
Air quality planning is an iterative process that incorporates detailed modeling analyses, assessments of air pollution sources such as mobile sources, continual evaluation of federal and state regulations and creative strategies to address air pollution outside the scope of regulations. Compliance Assurance
DEEP’s air compliance assurance program utilizes source monitoring, inspection, report review, administrative enforcement and a variety of other tools to ensure that the operation of sources of air pollution and related activities comply with all applicable orders, permits, the Connecticut General Statutes, and the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies. Radiation
The Radiation Division sets standards for the safe operation of equipment that produces radiation and for the possession, use, storage, transportation and disposal of radioactive material. The division inspects facilities that use radioactive material, x-ray machines and other radiation producing devices and is responsible for responding to
reports of accidents and incidents involving radioactive materials. of radiation, emergency response, how to register your emitting devices and more.
