Statewide Process Improvement Steering Committee
This Committee was originally formed in 2011 in response to C.G.S. 4-68z, a section of state statute that requires OPM, within available funds, to contract for consulting services to apply Lean practices and principles to certain state agency permitting and enforcement processes. The original Committee included representatives from the five (5) agencies specifically mentioned in the statute (OPM, DEEP, DECD, DAS and DOT).
In March 2013, Governor Dannel P. Malloy issued a directive that all state agencies should utilize Lean tools and methodologies to become more efficient and customer-focused. As a response, the Steering Committee was expanded to include fourteen (14) members spanning all strategic areas of the Executive Branch of state government.
