Wednesday: Gov. Malloy Discusses Urban Violence in New Britain, Tours Wallingford Greenhouses
On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join New Britain Mayor Tim O’Brien, New Britain Police Chief James Wardwell, members of the New Britain City Council, and community stakeholders for a roundtable discussion on urban gun violence, including gun violence reduction strategies, community policing efforts, and other urban crime mitigation efforts.

Gov. Malloy: Statewide Emergency Preparedness Drill to be Held This Week
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that a two-day statewide emergency preparedness drill designed to simulate a major ice storm in the western part of the state will take place on June 20 and 22. Coordinated by the state’s Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DEMHS), the exercise is designed, among other things, to improve communication between the state's utility companies and state and local governments during emergencies and to test the state's mutual aid system.

Gov. Malloy: Autism Center at University of Saint Joseph Will Expand Services, Bolster Teacher Education, and Create Jobs
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced a $4 million grant to support the construction of the Center for Integrative Education at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) in West Hartford. The new center will expand the university’s work in the fields of autism and applied behavioral analysis, as well as increase the Gengras Center’s capacity to provide educational and vocational training to students with special needs.

Gov. Malloy, Congressional Delegation & First Selectman Llodra Announce Grant to Support Newtown Healing Through the Arts Project
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by Senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty (CT-05) and Newtown First Selectman Patricia Llodra, today announced that the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) is awarding a grant of $30,000 to support the HealingNewtown Arts Space in Newtown, Connecticut.

Gov. Malloy: State Commitment to Affordable Housing Most Significant in Decades
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today at a bill signing ceremony in Hartford highlighted significant investments the state will be making to its availability of affordable housing under a legislative package approved by the Connecticut General Assembly during the recently adjourned legislative session. Over the past three years, the state has made significantly more investments in housing than it has in decades, an area that the Governor noted is critical to the state's overall economic development needs.

Today: Gov. Malloy, Congressman Larson Tour Flood Damaged Farm
Today at noon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Congressman John Larson will visit the Killam and Bassette Farmstead in Glastonbury. The farm, along with many others throughout the region, suffered damage from flooding due to the recent heavy rainfall.

On Saturday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will speak at the Because of 26 ceremony in Plantsville, during which 26 butterfly bushes will be planted along the Southington Rail Trail to honor those lost six months ago in Newtown.

Gov. Malloy: On Six Month Anniversary, Funding for Design of New Sandy Hook Elementary School Announced
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that an allocation of $750,000 towards the design of a new building for Newtown’s Sandy Hook Elementary School is slated for approval at next week’s meeting of the State Bond Commission.
