The Department of Public Health (DPH) Drinking Water Section (DWS) openly communicates with public water systems (PWSs) across the State in order to share valuable emergency response and security related information as it pertains to the drinking water infrastructure. In the event of a water-related emergency, PWSs are required to notify a staff person at the DPH in accordance with Section 19-13-B46 of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies. Should an event occur requiring notification to or consultation with the DPH, PWSs must immediately call the DWS at 860-509-7333 during normal business hours & at 860-509-8000 after hours, and should then complete & submit the following notification form to the DWS and the Local Health Department by the following business day after learning of an event that requires immediate notification.
