State Police Investigate Untimely Death

On 2/27/11 at approximately 8:15 p.m. State Police Troop E troopers responded to the Riverview Parking Complex at Mohegan Sun Casino for a medical emergency. 

Upon arrival, it was determined that a male victim jumped from the fifth floor parking area to the first floor alley near the casino garage entrance.  The victim was transported to Backus Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

State Police Major Crime Detectives and Troopers from the casino unit responded to the scene to conduct the investigation into this incident.  The investigation determined that there was no criminal aspect to this case.

On 03/01/11 the Office of Chief States Medical Examiner conducted a post a mortem examination of the deceased.  It was determined that the cause of death was massive blunt trauma and the death was ruled a suicide.

The deceased is identified as OSCAR WOJTANOWSKI  DOB: 11/17/88  LKA 283 Faith Court Newington, Ct.

This investigation is closed.
