State Police Continue To Investigate Suspicious Death

On Monday June 13, 2011 at approximately 8:30 a.m. Rocky Hill Police received a 911 call from a person walking his dog reporting that he had discovered what appeared to be human remains off Old Forge Rd. in Rocky Hill near the Cromwell Town Line.

Police responded and found a decomposing partially buried human remains. Rocky Hill Police Officers secured the scene and contacted the State’s Attorney Office and requested the State Police Major Crime Squad respond to conduct the investigation into this death.

Central District State Police Major Crime Squad Detectives & Rocky Hill Detectives responded and initiated the criminal investigation into this death. State Police Detectives documented and examined the scene.  All surrounding police departments were advised of this case and were requested to examine all missing person records to aid in establishing the identity of the deceased.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted a post mortem examination of the deceased in an effort to determine the manner and cause of her death.  In addition, evidence was obtained to establish the deceased identity. The medical examiner has not determined the cause of death at this time. 

The deceased has been identified as a missing Middletown woman who had been reported missing to Middletown Police on January 25, 2011.  The deceased female is identified as: LISA SHANNON  DOB  02/05/1966 LKA 169 College St Middletown, Ct. White female 5’7” 145lbs.   Investigators are seeking anyone with information regarding Lisa Shannon.
