STATE POLICE & COVENTRY PD BANK INVESTIGATE BOMB THREATS

   On September 23, 2011, the First Niagara Bank branches in both Coventry and Mansfield  received threatening telephone bomb threats.  The Mansfield Branch on Route 44 received two telephone threats within a three-hour period.   

   The female caller threatened that an explosion would take place at the commercial establishments.  Upon receipt of the telephone threat, State Police Bomb Squad Troopers and State Police Bomb K-9 teams responded and conducted searches of all the bank facilities with negative results.

   State Police Eastern District Major Crimes conducted the criminal investigation in an attempt to identify the female caller.   Detectives from the CT State Police and Coventry Police Department developed information and leads in this criminal case which resulted in the arrest of Nicolina Mclean, DOB 11-04-65.  Mclean was arrested on September 26, 2011 for the Coventry Niagara Bank threats and was held in Dept. of Correction custody on a court set bond. 

     Detectives from the CT State Police submitted an additional arrest warrant application to Superior Court for the arrest of Mclean for the incidents in Mansfield.  The arrest warrant was issued by Superior Court GA-19, Rockville.  Accused Mclean was presented at court (GA-19, Rockville) on a Habeas from Dept. of Correction on October 24, 2011 where the arrest warrant was served. 

Accused Mclean was held in lieu of a $175,000.00 court set bond for this case.

 

     Mclean, Nicolina   DOB: 11/04/65 was charged with the following crimes:

1.    Threatening 1st Degree, 2 counts.

2.    Harassment 2nd Degree, 2 counts.
