                    STATE POLICE STATEWIDE NARCOTICS TASK FORCE

Several outdoor Marijuana Grow operations located and seized in Cheshire

   Today, July 18, 2011, the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force, with assistance from Massachusetts National Guard Counterdrug Aviation unit, conducted flights over several areas in the town of Cheshire with the purpose of locating outdoor marijuana grow operations. Several sites were located in deeply wooded areas throughout the town of Cheshire.

   Detectives on the ground team were led to these areas and did locate fields of marijuana. In total, Cheshire and SNTF Detectives located and eradicated 49 marijuana plants. The criminal investigation into these marijuana grows are on-going.
