THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT

   Connecticut State Troopers supplemented the normal patrol force with additional State Troopers over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.  The operation ran from midnight (0001hours) 11/23/11 and concluded at midnight (2400) on Sunday 11/27/11.

   Troopers patrolled all roads and highways across Connecticut and focused on drunk driving violations and aggressive drivers.

   Sobriety checkpoints and targeted DUI patrols were in place over the entire weekend.

   State Police will continue this preventive enforcement effort until the end of the entire 2011 Holiday season.  

   These State Police stats cover the time period starting at midnight on 11/23/11 to 11/27/11 midnight.

SPEEDING Arrests:  1,376

SEATBELT Arrests:  417

OTHER HAZARDOUS MOVING VIOLATION Arrests:  2,745

(including unsafe lane changes, following too closely, cell phone use, failure to signal, etc.) 

DUI ARRESTS:  65

ACCIDENTS Investigated:  389   WITH INJURY: 50    FATALITIES: 2 (Marlbourgh 66 & Blackledge Dr) (Rt 15, E. Htfd)
