          STATE POLICE NARCOTICS INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ARREST

   On February 3, 2011, the Statewide Narcotic Task Force, assisted by the Willimantic Police Department, conducted a joint investigation that resulted in a narcotics-related search warrant being executed at 23 Hope Street, Willimantic, CT.  Investigation revealed that an amount of illicit narcotics were being stored and sold from said residence.

 

   The Statewide Narcotic Task Force – East Field Office is comprised of members from the State Police, Groton Town, Groton City and Willimantic Police Departments.

   Seized were 210 bags of heroin prepackaged for sale, an amount of U.S. currency and items of drug paraphernalia.

ARRESTED:    Herman Rodriguez-Velez (DOB 12/25/1965)

                  23 Hope Street, Willimantic, CT

CHARGES:    Poss. Heroin
                  Poss. Heroin WITS
                  Poss. Heroin w/in 1500’ School
                  Poss. Heroin WITS w/in 1500’ School
                  Operating a Drug Factory
                  Risk of Injury

BOND:  $100,000.00 Cash/Surety

COURT:  G.A. 11, Danielson Superior Court 02/04/11
