        STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE THREE-CAR SERIOUS INJURY ACCIDENT                

   BURLINGTON----On Monday, December 19, 2011, at approximately 8:51 a.m., Troop L personnel responded to Route 4 and Lyons Road in Burlington for a reported three-car motor vehicle accident. 

   FIRE/EMS from Burlington and Harwinton also responded to the crash scene to provide extrication and emergency care to the vehicle occupants. 

   Troopers determined that Vehicle #1, a 2004 Buick Rendezvous operated by John Bonville, DOB: 06/08/1951, of 192 Woodchuck Lane, Harwinton, CT, was traveling westbound on Route 4 when it crossed over the double yellow line, striking Vehicle #2, a 2011 Ford Focus operated by Rachel Vienneau, DOB: 11/19/1986, of 111 Catlin Rd Harwinton, CT, head on.  Vienneau was extricated by EMS. 

   Vehicle #3 a Honda Civic operated by Nicole Bastiaanse-Fritch DOB: 12/30/1976 was traveling eastbound when it rear-ended vehicle 2. 

   The operators of Vehicles 1 and 2 were both air-lifted to Hartford Hospital with reported serious injuries. 

   The operator of vehicle #3 was transported to St. Francis Hospital via ground ambulance. 

   State Police accident reconstruction Troopers responded to assist in conducting this accident investigation.

   The investigation is continuing
