State Police Investigate Suspicious Death

On June 13, 2011 shortly after 8:00 a.m. Rocky Hill Police received a 911 call reporting what appeared to be human remains off Old Forge Rd.  Police responded and found partially buried, deteriorating human remains.

Rocky Hill Police secured the scene and contacted the State’s Attorney Office requesting State Police Investigators respond to conduct this suspicious death investigation.

State Police Central District Major Crime Squad Detectives responded to the scene to conduct this investigation assisted by Rocky Hill Police. State Police Detectives documented the scene and are working to establish identity of the deceased.  All missing persons cases will be exmined

State Police are askng anyone who may have information regarding this death to contact State Police at 1-800 842-0200.  All calls will be kept confidential.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct a post mortem examination of the deceased to determine manner and cause of death.

This investigation is continuing.
