State Police Conduct DUI Enforcement Operation

In an effort to continue the strict DUI enforcement across Connecticut, the Connecticut State Police announced today a targeted approach to apprehending drunk drivers.

On Thursday, January 20, 2011, the Connecticut State Police Traffic Services Unit will be conducting DUI Enforcement during the evening hours.

All specialized State Police equipment, including the non-traditional patrol cars and the Bat Mobil (BREATH ANALYSIS TESTING) will be staged at Rentschler Field in East Hartford for processing of intoxicated operators. Prior to the start of this operation there will be a formal roll call of the Troopers assigned to this detail at 6:30 p.m.

DUI enforcement patrols will be conducted by sixteen (16) troopers assigned to this detail.

Troopers will be concentrating their patrols on the following roads:

I-91 from the Massachusetts/Connecticut State lines to the Middletown/Meriden town lines.

I-84 from the Vernon/Manchester town lines to the Southington/Cheshire town lines.

Rte 2 from the Marlbourgh/Glastonbury town lines to Hartford.

Rte 9 from Middletown to I-84.
