State Police Computer Crimes Unit Makes Two Arrests

Arrested #1:Jerry Hurd DOB 6/14/79

                   7 Norman Road Apt I Norwich, CT

Charges:

            Criminal attempt at Sexual Assault 2nd degree, in violation of CGS 53a-49,

Criminal attempt at Impairing the Morals of a Minor, in violation of CGS 53a-49/53-21;

Criminal attempt at Enticement of a Minor, in violation of C.G.S. 53a-49/53a-90a 

Obscenity in violation of C.G.S. 53a-194     

                       

Arrested #2:Anna Hurd DOB  3/16/87

                    7 Norman Road Apt I Norwich, CT

                       

Charges:        

Conspiracy in Criminal attempt at Sexual Assault 2nd degree, in violation of CGS 53a-48/49-/53a-71,

Conspiracy in Criminal attempt at Impairing the Morals of a Minor, in violation of CGS 53a-48/49/53-21;

Conspiracy in Criminal attempt at Enticement of a Minor, in violation of C.G.S. 53a-48-49/53a-90a        

Conspiracy in Obscenity in violation of C.G.S. 53a-194

On  6/29/11, Troopers assigned to the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit concluded an undercover criminal investigation of a the two accused in this case after the two suspects arranged a meeting for a sexual encounter with a the undercover Trooper who they believed was as a minor female. The couple was arrested today 6/29/11 when they arrived at a meeting spot to pick up the underage female for sex.

Troopers obtained a search and seizure warrant from the court and it was executed at their Apartment in Norwich Ct.  This warrant originated from an investigation regarding online enticement by the couple via the Internet and online accounts used by the suspect and Electronic items that were seized from the suspect’s residence will be examined. 

The suspects were taken into custody without incident and transported to State Police Troop I in Bethany where they were process and held on $75,000 bond and will appear in Superior Court GA#7 Meriden July 5th .
