State Police Computer Crimes Troopers Arrest Suspect

The Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit continues to conduct criminal undercover investigations online.  A trooper, working undercover online posing as a 14 year old girl, was engaged by the suspect in a chat room.

The suspect made sexual comments and eventually inquired to arrange to meet the undercover trooper who was posing as a 14 year old girl for eventual sexual contact.  The meet was arranged at a laundromat on Camp St. in Meriden, Ct. 

Today 06/14/11 shortly after 10:30 a.m. the suspect did arrive at the Meriden location to meet the young girl and was met by State Police Detectives from the Computer Crimes Unit.  The accused was taken into custody by troopers without incident.  A search & seizure warrant was obtained from Superior Court by troopers to search for additional evidence at the suspect’s home.

The suspect was transported to State Police Troop-I Bethany where he was processed and held on $75,000 bond.

CHARGES:    Criminal attempt to impair morals of minor

Accused will appear in Superior Court GA #7 in Meriden on Wednesday 06/15/11.
