GAS LEAK CAUSES EXTENDED ROAD CLOSURE

State Police are asking motorists to avoid several roadways in Montville due to a propane leak. The leak was caused by a malfunction on a propane truck.  Presently State Police have closed: Route 163 from Bridge St. to Route 32 and Route 395 exit 79 on and off ramps.

The area will be shut down for an unknown period of time due to a propane home heating fuel truck leaking propane.

The fire department is on scene and the area will remain shut down while awaiting the arrival of a second propane truck to transfer the propane gas. There are no injuries.

State Troopers are asking the public to seek alternate routes.
