UPDATE:

State Police Investigate Suspicious Death

On 11/06/10 at approx. 2:38 p.m., State Police Troopers from the Ellington Resident Trooper’s office and Troop C responded to a 911 call at 15 Charter Rd., Ellington for a medical assist.  EMS and State Police were dispatched to the residence.  Upon arrival Troopers and EMS Personnel discovered an 85 year old female victim located in her bed unresponsive.

EMS personnel pronounced her deceased at the scene.  Troopers secured the scene and conducted an examination of the area.  State Police Eastern District Major Crime Detectives responded to assist in this investigation.  Family members at the scene gave statements relative to the victim's medical history.  Detectives processed the scene for evidence in this case.  No criminal aspect was determined in this investigation.

On 10/8/10 an autopsy was completed at the Office of the Chief State's Medical Examiner. The post mortem examination of the deceased determined the cause of death to be accidental.  The deceased is identified as Francis Machowski (DOB 03/27/25).
