State Troopers Seek Public’s Help in Attempted Child Abduction    

On 04/02/10 at approximately 12:00 p.m. State Police Troop K in Colchester received a 911 call from a residence located on Ridge Rd. in East Haddam.  It was reported that an unknown male had just attacked a young child while he was playing in the yard.

Upon arrival the investigating Trooper determined the incident occurred in the yard where the caller and the young child were playing. 

The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue sweat pants, and sneakers.

The victim sustained slight abrasions during the encounter.  A State Police K9 responded to aid in the search for the suspect and Detectives from the State Police Major Crime Squad responded to the scene to search for and process forensic evidence.  A composite sketch of the suspect is below.
