State Police Make Commercial MV Narcotics Arrest

On August 4, 2010, at approximately 9:00 p.m. Troopers on patrol from Troop H-in Hartford were conducting proactive commercial traffic enforcement and truck safety inspections on I-91 S/B in the area of exits 39-41. 

Troopers stopped a truck for a safety inspection.  During the truck inspection, Troopers determined that the passenger of the truck was in possession of narcotics in the cab portion of the truck. Troopers interviewed the passenger and seized narcotics in his possession that have been identified as methamphetamine. 

Troopers secured the scene where the truck was located and continued the narcotics investigation.  During a search the entire truck Troopers located the components that are used to create methamphetamine.  Troopers also located prepared methamphetamine in a container within the cab of the truck.  All of these illegal items were seized.

Due to the volatile nature of the chemicals used to create “Meth” these chemicals were secured by Troopers and the State Police Emergency Services Bomb Squad Troopers responded to secure and transport safely the chemicals that were seized from this truck.

The passenger of the trailer truck was taken into custody and Transported to Troop H where he was processed and held on bond.  The accused was transported to Enfield Superior Court for

arraignment.
