State Police Make Arrest In East Lyme Bank Robbery

On 01/04/10 shortly after 1:30 pm. State Police and East Lyme Resident State Trooper responded to the Liberty Bank 314 Flanders Rd., East Lyme for a reported bank robbery.   Responding Troopers determined that a lone white male entered the bank, approached a teller and implied he was armed and demanded cash.   The teller complied and the suspect fled the bank on foot.  The area was searched with negative results.

Responding Troopers processed the crime scene and recovered evidence at the scene. State Police Major Crime Detectives examined the evidence, interviewed witnesses and developed a suspect in this case.  Troopers located the suspect and recovered additional evidence in this case.

On 01//07/10 an arrest warrant application was submitted to Superior Court for the arrest of the accused in this case. The warrant was issued today 01/07/10 and at approximately 5:00 p.m. Troopers took the suspect into custody without incident.

The accused was transported to State Police Troop-E where he was processed and held on $250,000 bond.

                Larceny 3rd

The accused will appear at GA #10 on 01/08/10.  No additional arrests are expected in this case.
