STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE TWO UNTIMELY DEATHS

On 06/12/10, at approximately 12 noon, State Troopers from Troop E Montville received a call reporting two unresponsive people in a motor vehicle located in a wooded area of Route 2A in the Town of Preston. Arriving troopers discovered a Chevy Impala approximately 500 feet down a dirt pathway off of Route 2A.

Located inside the vehicle were a male and a female. Both subjects were pronounced dead at the scene. The initial State Police investigation determined that there appeared to be no criminal aspect in the deaths. Based upon the physical condition of each body, both subjects were pronounced dead at the scene.

The scene was secured by responding Troopers and State Police Detectives responded to continue the investigation into both deaths. Troopers established tentative identification of the male and female victims, but are withholding both identities pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.  Both victims were transported to OCME for a post mortem examination scheduled for 6/14/10.

Preliminary investigation indicates no criminal aspect. Detectives are working collectively with OCME for positive identification of the victims and notification to next of kin.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted the post mortem examination of the two decedents on 6/14/10. They were identified as Richard Lafleur DOB 5/21/57 and his sister Celia Lafleur DOB 4/20/63 whose last known addresses were North Main Street, Windsor Locks, Ct. The post mortem examination of the decedents indicated that there was no criminal aspect in the manner of their deaths.

The State Police Investigation is closed noncriminal.
