STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE ROBBERY

Walgreens Pharmacy Westbrook

     Today, 05/27/10, State Police Troop F Westbrook & the Westbrook Resident State Trooper received a report of a robbery that had taken place at approximately 11:48 a.m. at the Walgreen Pharmacy located in Westbrook.   Troopers responded to the Walgreens Pharmacy off RT 1 to investigate a larceny of narcotic medication from that location.  Upon arrival Troopers conducted a search of the area and also utilized State Police K-9 to search for the suspect.  The surrounding police agencies were advised of this crime and were also given a description of the suspect.

      State Police Detectives also responded to assist in this robbery investigation and to process the crime scene.  Detectives determined that a White Male  6’2”, wearing khaki shorts, a white long sleeve t-shirt, green baseball hat and sunglasses entered the store and demanded Oxycontin from the pharmacy clerk.  Investigators determined that the suspect obtained Oxycontin pills and fled on foot eastbound on RT 1.  No one was injured in this incident. Detectives interviewed several witnesses and obtained several facts and information regarding this crime.

       Store surveillance video showed the same suspect in the store approximately 10 minutes prior to the robbery wearing a blue button-up shirt and a large brim hat.

  

        State Police are asking anyone who may recognize the suspect from the surveillance photos or anyone who may have seen anything in the area of Walgreen’s in Westbrook today to please contact State Police at 860-399-2100.  All calls will be kept confidential.
