State Police Investigate Lottery Ticket Theft
         On Thursday 05/27/2010 at 10:55 a.m. Connecticut State Police Troop-F and the Westbrook resident State Trooper received a 911 complaint reporting that a male subject had entered a package store, reached over the counter and stole approximately 29 $30.00 lottery tickets from the Westbrook package store located on Rte-1 in Westbrook. 

Troopers responded to the package store and initiated a criminal investigation into the lottery ticket theft. A search of the area for the suspect was conducted by Troopers with negative results.  All surrounding police agencies were advised of the theft and description of the suspect.  Troopers interviewed witnesses, examined the scene, and collected evidence at the store. 

Security surveillance video footage was seized by troopers from the security cameras at the package store.  A still photo of the suspect is attached.  The suspect is a white male 5’9” to 6’ 180lbs wearing t- shirt and shorts.

 

Ten winning lottery tickets were cashed in by the suspect at several stores located in the Norwich area shortly after the theft on 05/27/2010.
