                     STATE POLICE INVESTIGATING LARCENY
                       AT CONVENIENCE STORE IN DAYVILLE

    

         On 03/26/2010, at about 1:40 a.m., Connecticut State Police at Troop D received a call from the clerk on duty at the Xtra Mart Convenience Store, 439 Hartford Pike, Dayville, CT. The clerk reported that a male subject took money from the cash register and fled on foot from the store. Troopers assigned to Troop D responded to the scene. The scene was secured and Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad were called in to investigate the incident and process the scene for evidence.

         The investigation revealed that a white male subject entered the store at about 1:40 a.m.  He was attempting to make a purchase, and when the clerk opened the cash register, the subject reached over and grabbed cash from the cash register and fled from the scene.

         The suspect is described as a white male, mid- to late-20’s in age, approximately 5’7” to 5’10” tall, bright blue eyes, medium build, wearing a blue ball cap, gray rain jacket and blue jeans. He was possibly operating a small, dark blue, 4-door, compact car.
