                                         JULY 4th 2010 HOLIDAY WEEKEND

         The Connecticut State Police holiday stats for the July 4th weekend are listed below.  The weekend count began at 12:00 midnight on July 2nd and ran until midnight July 5th.

         SUMMARY from 7/2/2010 midnight to 07/05/10 at 12:01 a.m.:

 

            ACCIDENTS:   187

               With injury: 31

               Fatals:  4

            DUI:  46

            Speeding Ticket:  1,846

            Seatbelt Tickets:  358

            HAZARDOUS MOVING VIOLATIONS:  2,965  (Following Too Close; Unsafe lane change,cell violations, etc.)

      State Police will continue to enforce all motor vehicle laws as the summer continues.

At any time if you see a suspected drunk driver, this is a true emergency - please report it via 911.
