                       Search Warrant in New Haven

                  2 Arrests and Seizure of 45 Marijuana Plants

    

      On 01/09/08, at approximately 10 a.m., the State Police Urban Violence Task Force, an enforcement initiative comprised of State Police and New Haven Police Officers, along with DEA Special Agents executed a search warrant at 30 Chamberlain Place in the city of New Haven.

      A significant indoor marijuana grow operation was located in the basement of this residential property. Forty five (45) mature marijuana plants were located and seized. It is estimated that each plant will yield one pound of marijuana each, for a total approximate street value of $72,000. A cross bow and an air rifle were also located in the residence and seized.

   Both occupants of the residence were arrested on the above listed charges including risk of injury to minors for exposing two young children to the marijuana. The Department of Children and Families was notified. Suspects were detained on $100,000 bonds, for presentment at GA 23 on 01/10/08.
