              Search Warrant in New Haven Leads to Arrest,

                 Seizure of Drugs and Weapon

On 02/29/08 at approx. 1240 hours the Urban Violence Task Force, an enforcement initiative of State Troopers and New Haven Police Officers, along with Law Enforcement Postal Inspectors executed a search warrant at  249 Chatham Street New Haven. Upon entry a hidden room was discovered where an in-door Marijuana grow operation was located. 3  Marijuana plants and 1 pound of packaged marijuana were recovered. Each plant will yield approx. one pound of marijuana each for an approximate street value of $20,000. Wright was arrested on the above listed charges including Risk of Injury to a Minor for exposing  his 7 month old infant to the marijuana operation, DCF notified. A .45 caliber Dessert Eagle handgun and ammunition was also recovered. Suspect were detained on $100,000 bond, presentment at GA 23 on 03/3/08.
