FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 27th, 2008

On July 21, 2007 the State Police at Troop B in North Canaan were called to investigate a missing person complaint at 34 Ravine Ridge Rd, Salisbury, CT.   Troopers arrived at the residence within minutes of the call and learned that Thomas P. Drew had walked away from his rural home on the CT/MA border.  There was no evidence of foul play.

A massive search effort was undertaken that included State Police troopers from CT and the Massachusetts State Police, CT & MA State Police K-9’s, Trooper 1, fixed-wing airplanes, volunteer firefighters, and the CT K-9 Search & Rescue Team.  The search continued over several weeks but ended unsuccessfully.

Thomas Drew was 91 years old at the time of his disappearance.  He was described as 5’06” tall, weighing 125 pounds, and was last seen wearing a maroon sweatshirt, blue jeans, and  white slip-on shoes or white sneakers.  Drew had limited mobility, suffered from dementia, and had difficulty communicating with others.
