   UPDATE 2nd Arrest Made
ARRESTS MADE IN THEFT OF STEEL BRIDGE I-BEAMS FROM COLCHESTER DOT GARAGE
In 2005 the Connecticut State Police received a complaint from the Connecticut Department of Transportation regarding the theft of steel beams from the Colchester DOT Garage. State Police Detectives began a criminal investigation into the disappearance of the two 30 foot steel bridge I-beams from that DOT garage.
State Police Detectives conducted a lengthy and extensive investigation. As a result of the facts and circumstances determined by detectives arrest warrants were submitted to the local Superior Court. Subsequently these arrest warrants were authorized.

charge:        Larceny 2nd degree
court and
bond:           held on a $100,000 bond
                      with a court date of 08/19/2008 at G.A. 21 in Norwich
on 08/21/08 a second subject was arrested relevant to this investigation-

arrested:    Jon J.  Barass   age 48    d.o.b. 2/29/60

charges:      Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 2 nd

court and
bond:           processed and released on a $10,000 non-surety bond
                     with a  court date of 09/04/2008 at G.A. 21 in Norwich
