                      STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE EAST GRANBY HOMICIDE

   On 09/29/07, at approximately 10:00 p.m.,Connecticut State Police Troop H received 911 calls reporting a fight in progress at the Metacomet Trail located adjacent to the Farmington River in East Granby.

   Troopers from Troop H in Hartford and Troop W in Windsor Locks responded to the scene and discovered a large gathering of young people.  It was reported that one person was severely injured and was located about ¼ mile into the woods.   A male subject was located, was severely injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

   The area was secured and State Police Central Major Crime Squad Detectives responded to conduct a criminal investigation into this incident.  Detectives are being assisted by the East Granby Resident State Trooper’s Office.

   Witnesses provided investigative information to detectives regarding possible suspects in this case. State Police Detectives examined the crime scene and gathered physical and forensic evidence.

   On 10/01/07, the Office of the Chief State’s Medical Examiner conducted a post mortem examination of the deceased.  The deceased is identified as CHRISTOPHER JENSEN,DOB: 7/6/89,42 KINGS COURT, ENFIELD,CT.

   The death has been ruled a homicide caused by a stab wound to the chest.

   This investigation is ongoing as detectives seek and interview additional witnesses in this case.
