                          STATE POLICE STATEWIDE FIREARMS

                     TRAFFICKING TASK FORCE SEIZES 600 WEAPONS     

   In the afternoon of Friday, June 8, 2007, and into the early morning hours of June 9, 2007, the State Police Statewide Firearms Trafficking Task Force, assisted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, served a Search and Seizure Warrant at a private home located at #159 Mountain View Road in the town of Somers, CT.  This search & seizure

warrant was obtained as result of an extensive criminal investigation into the theft of firearms that was conducted by State Police Detectives assigned to this Task Force.

   During the search of the residence the State Police Detectives recovered (601) six hundred and one firearms, including twenty seven (27) stolen handguns and one (1) stolen rifle.

   This investigation resulted in one arrest.

ARRESTED:  Brian H. McClelland  DOB: 10/14/43 W/M

                 #159 Mountain View Road

                 Somers, CT.

   The accused was transported to Troop C where he was  processed and

charged with 28 counts of stealing a firearm and Larceny 1st by possession.

   This case remains under investigation as the Task Force will examine

each weapon and trace its origin.
