                           STATE POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP

                                            TO IDENTIFY SUSPECT

              

   On 8/10/07, an unknown black female cashed a counterfeit Sprague Board of Education check in the amount of $1,168.83 at a TD BankNorth branch in West Hartford, CT. The unknown female is allegedly part of a counterfeit check-cashing ring operating out of the greater Hartford area. This check-cashing ring had been responsible for cashing more than$50,000 in counterfeit checks at other BankNorth locations throughout the state of CT since June of 2007. 

    

   The suspect female is also wanted by the Natick, Massachusetts, Police Department for a similar incident that occurred at a Natick bank on 8/22/06 (pictured in the first link below).  The unidentified female made 4 withdrawals over $1,000 from both the victim’s business and personal accounts.  The female appears on the Massachusetts Most Wanted website at www.massmostwanted.com

    

   The Connecticut State Police and the Hartford Police Department are actively investigating this case and searching for the counterfeit check-cashing ring members.
